Currently, Katsetos’ primary Athletic Training sport coverage includes working with the Pioneer women’s volleyball team and dance teams as well as assisting with several other Pioneer Athletic teams.  Previously Katsetos served as the Athletic Trainer for the men’s basketball program for 19 years as well as the cross-country, golf, women’s lacrosse and baseball teams. In addition, he is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Athletic Training Department. As an administrator, Katsetos oversees the Strength and Conditioning department and Dance Team. During his time at SHU, he has also served as an adjunct professor for 14 years and still serves as a clinical preceptor within the College of Health Profession for the accredited Athletic Training program where he was selected as the Preceptor of the Year in 2020.

In 2020-2021, Katsetos, who is the department's NCAA athletics healthcare administrator served on the Northeast Conference's COVID-19 Medical Advisory Committee and the SHU Coronavirus Planning Team. In those roles, Katsetos helped develop the policies and implementation for testing student-athletes as well as the return to play guidelines and contact tracing. Katsetos and his staff were instrumental in navigating through the pandemic and keeping the athletics department moving forward during these unprecedented times.

Prior to coming to Sacred Heart, Katsetos served as the Athletic Trainer for the Florida Atlantic University baseball team in Boca Raton, Florida.  Katsetos earned both his Bachelor of Science and MSEd in Athletic Training from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va., where he served as a student and graduate assistant Athletic Trainer for several athletic teams.

Katsetos, who was named SHU's associate head athletics trainer in 2007, also dedicates much of his time in helping raise money and awareness for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society for which he serves as an ambassador and most recently was appointed as a member of the NMSS’s Board of Trustees for the CT/RI Chapter.  Since 2005, he has organized walk teams consisting of friends, family and the Sacred Heart Community for the annual Walk MS fundraiser. Along with his two brothers, Katsetos also owns a seafood restaurant and sports bar in his hometown of Chincoteague Island, Virginia.  In his spare time Leo dedicates his time training and competing in endurance events.
