Pioneer Football Dropped By Stony Brook, 24-14

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) - Scott Bard threw touchdown passes of 15 and 67 yards to Londre Blocker and Stony Brook went on to a 24-14 victory over Sacred Heart on Saturday.

Bard was 12-of-23 for 144 yards for the Seawolves (4-2, 3-2 Northeast Conference), and Blocker had six receptions for 133 yards.

Chad King returned an interception 90 yards with 7:36 left in the fourth quarter to give Stony Brook a 24-7 lead.

Joe Kroells finished 21-of-41 for 216 yards for the Pioneers (3-3, 3-2), including a 10-yard touchdown pass to Marlon Ward with 6:08 to play in the game.

Bard's 15-yard pass to Blocker came four minutes into the game, while their 67-yard pass play came with 4:10 left in the first quarter. Michael Soto's 41-yard field goal made it 17-0 with 5:57 to go in the first half.

Eric Hernandez cut the lead to 17-7 with a 50-yard run with 2:24 left in the half.
