Amanda Pape Named Enterprise Rent-A-Car/SHU Student Athlete of the Week

FAIRFIELD, CT (December 12, 2005) - Junior Amanda Pape (Stamford, CT) was named the Enterprise Rent-A-Car / Sacred Heart Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of December 5th through 11th.
Pape was the driving force for the Pioneers this week as SHU went a perfect 2-0 in conference play and extended their winning streak to four-straight. Pape turned in masterful performance against St. Francis-NY, scoring a season high 26 points, just two off her career-high, to lead SHU to a 69-51 win over the Terriers. Pape, the NEC's leading scorer, hit seven-of-12 from the field and went to the free throw line 13 times, tying a career high, and hit 11. She added six rebounds to her stat line. The junior guard came back on Saturday to lead the Pioneers to their first win in Loretto, PA since the 2000-01 season with a game-high 18 points in an 89-52 win over St. Francis-PA. Pape also grabbed five boards, made five steals and passed out five assists to help SHU snap a five-game losing streak to the Red Flash. Pape leads the team and league in scoring at 18.2 points per game while shooting 48.6% from the field.
The Pioneers and Pape will hit the floor again this Saturday when they take on Iona at 7:30 pm.
