FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) - Job Casimir made six key free throws in the final two minutes as Quinnipiac kept its Northeast Conference tournament hopes alive by beating Sacred Heart 71-65.
Quinnipiac (12-14, 7-10 Northeast Conference) overcame an 11-point second-half deficit by outscoring Sacred Heart 32-15 over the final 11:21.
The Bobcats will make the tournament if they defeat Central Connecticut State at home on Monday. If they lose, Sacred Heart (11-16, 8-10), which has dropped eight of its last 10, will make the eight-team tournament.
John Winchester scored 13 points for Quinnipiac, including a dunk with 2:23 left that put his team ahead 61-58. Karl Anderson added 13 points.
Kibwe Trim had game-highs of 22 points and 11 rebounds for SHU, and Jarrid Frye scored 21.
Sacred Heart led 50-39, its largest lead of the game, after a Tavio Hobson hoop with 11:43 left. But Quinnipiac scored the next 10 points to get right back in the game.
