Final Stats

BROOKLYN, NY - Kenny Cedel pitched seven scoreless innings while his teammates took advantage of five Sacred Heart University errors to defeat the Pioneers 7-0 in a Northeast Conference baseball game Sunday afternoon. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for Sacred Heart, now 6-13 overall and 2-1 in the NEC.

The Blackbirds, 2-12-1 overall and 1-2 in the conference, got the only run it would need on an RBI single in the second inning by Dan Pirillo. LIU would score another in the inning on a throwing error by SHU starter Jeff Hanson.

Junior second baseman Jason Maiella led the Pioneers with three hits in the game. Hanson took the loss, allowing two earned runs in five innings, to fall to 1-2.
