Ungar Named to ABCA Northeast All-Region Second Team

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Alex Ungar of the Sacred Heart University baseball team was named to the 2025 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Div. I Northeast All-Region Second Team on Tuesday morning. The teams are voted on by members of the ABCA and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. I All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
 
Ungar was an absolute force for the Pioneers' offense, leading the team with an impressive .359 batting average in 48 starts. The senior right fielder racked up 69 hits, 52 RBIs, and 62 runs scored, while showcasing his power with 24 doubles and 13 home runs. Hailing from Ronkonkoma, N.Y., Ungar also dominated the base paths, leading the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) with 31 stolen bases and boasting a remarkable .708 slugging percentage.
 
Beyond his offensive prowess, Ungar was a standout in the field, recording 104 putouts and a stellar .982 fielding percentage. His all-around excellence made him a key contributor to Sacred Heart's success this season.
