FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sacred Heart University baseball has announced its 2026 schedule, featuring a full slate of non-conference challenges and MAAC competitions as the Pioneers continue to build momentum under head coach Pat Egan.

The Pioneers will play a 51-game regular season slate against a diverse group of regional and national opponents, highlighted by early-season road tests and a strong home conference presence, which includes 20 home games and 31 road contests.

Sacred Heart opens the 2026 campaign on Feb. 13 with a three-game inaugural series at North Florida (Feb. 13-15), marking the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The Pioneers then continue February on the road with another inaugural matchup at ETSU (Feb. 20-22) before traveling to NC State (Feb. 27-March 1) for a marquee non-conference series. The series against the Wolfpack will be the first regular-season meeting between SHU and NC State, with the two programs previously facing off in the 2012 NCAA Baseball Tournament at the NCAA Raleigh Regional at Doak Field at Dail Park.

March features a mix of non-conference and MAAC play, including matchups with URI (March 3), Yale (March 11), Quinnipiac (March 13-15), Boston College (March 17), and Central Connecticut State (March 31). The Pioneers open their home schedule March 6-8 against Rider at Veterans Park. MAAC play continues with a split weekend series against Bryant, with games on March 20–21 in Smithfield, R.I., before the series finale returns to Fairfield on March 22.

Conference play ramps up in April and May, featuring in-state and regional focus with home MAAC series against Merrimack (April 17-19), Siena (April 24-26), and CCSU (May 5). Road trips during the month include Manhattan (April 2-4), Iona (April 10-12), and Marist (May 1-3), while key midweek contests against Stony Brook (April 7), Yale (April 22) and Fordham (April 28) add depth to the spring slate.

The final stretch of regular season includes a home series against Fairfield on May 14-16, closing out MAAC play and positioning the Pioneers for postseason competition.

Sacred Heart will look to make a run at the MAAC Playoffs, scheduled for May 20–23 at Heritage Financial Park, home of the Hudson Valley Renegades in Dutchess County, N.Y. The Pioneers will aim to contend for a conference championship and postseason berth, with the MAAC Baseball Championship set to be held at the Renegades' ballpark for the next three years.

The 2026 schedule balances challenging non-conference opportunities with critical MAAC matchups, setting the stage for an exciting spring at Veterans Park.
