Final Stats

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (September 30, 2006) - The Sacred Heart women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Saturday afternoon at the Long Island Blackbird Holiday Inn Express Challenge. SHU lost in three-straight to the host Blackbirds and to Virginia Commonwealth to fall to 1-15 on the season. The Pioneers have dropped 14-straight matches.

LIU got a double double from Martina Wagner, her 12th double-double of the season and third in as many games. She finished with 14 kills and 13 digs. Teammate Shelby Heggie also reached double digits in the kill category, racking up 10.

The Pioneers got 10 kills from junior Tiffany Phoenix (Cresskill, NJ). Sophomore Katie Thomas (Wappingers Falls, NY) finished with 14 digs.

Against VCU, Phoenix finished with nine kills while junior Sam McMillan (Manassas, VA) has 12 digs and 24 assists.

VCU got 11 kills from Ana Luiza De Borja while the Rams hit .337 (47-13-101) as a team in the match.

The Pioneers are at Saint Peter's on Wednesday, October 4th at 7:00 pm.
