TEANECK, NJ - Junior Drew Shubik (Stoystown, PA) scored 19 points, including a pair of free throws in the final 30 seconds, to lead the Sacred Heart men's basketball team to an 86-82 win over Fairleigh Dickinson Tuesday night.

The Pioneers, 14-13 overall and 10-6 in the Northeast Conference, led 47-43 at the intermission thanks to shooting a blistering 64 percent in the half (21-33). Junior Brice Brooks (Silverdale, WA) led the team by scoring 17 of his 18 points in the period.

FDU, 14-13 overall and 9-7 in the conference, jumped out to a 21-13 lead thanks to a pair of threes from both Manny Ubilla and Cameron Tyler in the first seven minutes. A trey by Shubik with 3:28 left in the half gave the Pioneers the lead.

SHU would hold the lead, opening it up to 71-61 with 7:30 left in the game after a Shubik layup. A 10-0 run by the Knight, capped by a Tyler three with 4:46 to go, tied the game at 71-71. A pair of Shubik free throws with 4:06 remaining gave the Pioneers the lead back for good.

"I said to the guys in the huddle at a timeout that that was their run," said Bike. "Now let's get it back, I said. Fortunately for us we were able to counter. It's not easy to keep an offense like theirs down."

Frye finished the game with 17 points for the Pioneers, while freshman Ryan Litke (Windsor, CT) had 14, including four of six from three-point range.

"Drew came up real big for us tonight after a couple of sub-par games," said head coach Dave Bike. "The biggest thing he did was make those free throws down the stretch."

Tyler led the Knights with 24 points, while senior Andre Harris had 22 and a game-high nine rebounds. Michael Peeples finished with 20.

The win extends the SHU record for Division I and Northeast Conference wins.
