Kaitlin Sowinski named Enterprise Rent-A-Car / SHU Student-Athlete of the Week

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (December 15, 2008) - Senior Kaitlin Sowinski (Hopkinton, RI) was named the Enterprise Rent-A-Car / Sacred Heart Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of December 8th through 14th.
Sowinski led the Pioneers to their fourth-straight win last week, scoring 22 points and pulling down 17 rebounds in a 64-56 win at Princeton. Sowinski notched her second double double of the season, collecting seven offensive rebounds in the win. The senior center shot seven-of-14 from the field and eight-of-11 at the free throw line on her way to a season-best 22 point afternoon. Defensively, the Pioneer's all-time leading block leader posted a season-high six blocks in the win.
On the season, Sowinski is averaging 14.0 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game. She is shooting 50.5% (50-99) from the field. Sowinski and the Pioneers are back in action on Saturday afternoon, playing host to Rhode Island at 12 noon.
