Alisa Apo Named Enterprise Rent-A-Car / SHU Student-Athlete of the Week

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (December 8, 2008) - Sophomore Alisa Apo (Freehold, NJ) of the women's basketball team was named the Enterprise Rent-A-Car / Sacred Heart Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of December 1st through 7th.
Apo helped lead the Pioneers to a pair of wins last week over Stony Brook and Fairleigh Dickinson snapping an 0-5 streak to start the season. Apo hits four-of-nine including a pair for downtown for 14 points to go with five assists, tying a career-high, to lead SHU to an 81-42 win over Stony Brook. Apo came back on Saturday to pour in a team-high 16 points with four assists and three steals to lead the Pioneers to an 81-45 win over the Knights in the Northeast Conference opener for both teams. Apo leads the Pioneers and is sixth in the NEC in scoring at 16.6 points per game. She is hitting 88.4% (38-43) at the free throw line.
The Pioneers are back in action on Monday night playing host to Mount St. Mary's.
