hitting percentage as the SHU women's volleyball team posted a 15th
straight victory and remain unbeaten in Northeast Conference

Hetherington (Thousand Oaks, CA) all had solid performances,
swinging at over a .300 clip and notching at least eight kills.
The win also improves Sacred Heart to 20-1 in its last 21
matches in a streak that includes 12 shutouts.
Sacred Heart (20-4, 9-0 NEC) took a commanding 18-11 lead in the
opening game after Hetherington dropped in one of her four kills of
the set. The Pioneers rolled to a .536 hitting mark in the
opening frame, taking a 1-0 lead in the match with a 25-15 triumph.

Kidd-Kadlubek (Santa Barbara, CA) added 13 of her match high 44
assists in the first set. Entering the weekend the senior
setter ranked 12th in the NCAA averaging 11.48 assists per set.
Fairleigh Dickinson (9-15, 4-5 NEC) held an early 7-4 advantage
in the second stanza as Sarah Berkland put in one of her five kills
of the match. Violeta Slabakova paced the Knights attack with
11 kills and one error for the afternoon. Sage slammed
back-to-back kills following a Trimble put away to bring the set
back level. Sage also made just one error in the match on 25
total attempts to go with her 16 kills. The sophomore middle
player provided SHU with its final two points of the frame, a 25-20
victory.
The two teams battled close throughout the third set as neither
side could build more than a three point cushion. A pair of
Sacred Heart miscues cut the Pioneer advantage to 23-22 late in the
game. Sage again put the ball to the floor to give SHU a pair
of match points at 24-22. Trimble supplied the game winning
kill as SHU finished the sweep with a 25-23 win in the final
set.
The women's volleyball team looks to keep multiple streaks alive
on the road against Bryant tomorrow, game time is set for 1:00
pm.
