Lerae Ettienne has officially signed her letter of intent, committing to play basketball for the Pioneers starting in the 2012-13 season.
"When I got to the campus, I knew this was the place where I was supposed to be," Ettienne said.
Ettienne is one of nine seniors at Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington, M.D. to sign national letters of intent to NCAA Division I school. Two more are expected to sign after the early signing period. The 2010-11 Tartans were ranked No. 40 in the nations, and third in the State of Maryland. The team closed the season with a 24-7 record, 13-3 in league play.
"Lerae has tremendous athletic ability and a high ceiling for improvement," said Head Coach Ed Swanson. "Our staff believes her desire to get better coupled with her natural instincts will give her the opportunity to be a dominate post player in the NEC. Her knack for the ball and shot-blocking presence will be a great addition to our team."
