(New Haven, CT) – The Sacred Heart Field Hockey team fell 3-1 on the road to the Yale Bulldogs Sunday afternoon.

Jessie Accurso opened the scoring for the Bulldogs at 14:29, with Maddy Sharp setting her up.  Noelle Villa made a two-goal lead for Yale, converting on a penalty corner at 32:58.  Emily Schuckert and Erica Borgo earned the assists.

Borgo extended Yale's lead at 47:53 with an unassisted goal.  Sacred Heart got on the bored late, as Liz Bergman (Blandon, PA) scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season at 67:36.  Stephanie Frye (Walpole, MA) and Kim Pobutkiewicz (West Long Branch, NJ) assisted.

Mary Altepeter (Chesterfield, MO) made ten saves in goal for the Pioneers, but Emily Cain earned the victory in stopping four of five SHU shots.

SHU visits Lock Haven next Saturday at 12:00 pm in their next action.
