Women's Rowing Opens 2014 with Great Start at the Riverfront Recapture

HARTFORD, CONN. (October 5, 2014)—The Sacred Heart women's rowing team opened the 2014 fall season this Sunday at the Riverfront Recapture in Hartford, Conn.
Jaclyn Smith (Williston Park, N.Y.) and Catherine Lott (Roxbury, Conn.) won the open double with a 1.5 minute lead over Riverfront. The Pioneers picked up two second place finishes. Tori Sufczynski (Darnestown, Md.), Sarah Poirier, Sara Totura, Diana Lento and Lindsay Carignan (Middletown, Conn.) finished the novice four right behind Coast Guard, while Maghan McMenimen (Arlington, Mass.), Christie Colucci (Danbury, Conn.), Mary Cantwell (Middletown,Conn.), Megan Smith (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.), Alissa Kneeland (Basking Ridge, N.J.), Meghan Maguire (Patterson, N.Y.), Kim D'Adamo (Bronx, N.Y.), Jen Williams (Cranford, N.J.) and Angelica Cramer (Manhasset, N.Y.) finished the JV8 behind Trinity.
For the first time in three years, Sacred Heart raced in the Varsity 8. The Pioneers, with a boat featuring Sufczynski, Poirier, Lott, Smith, Totura, Allison McCusker (Hingham, Mass.), Kelly Brown (Burlington, Mass.), Diana Lento and Carignan came in fourth.
