Setting the Scene... The Sacred Heart women's basketball team looks to snap its two-game slide on Sunday when the Pioneers make the short trip to Hartford to battle the University of Hartford Hawks at 2:00 p.m.
Series Notes... Hartford leads the all-time series 6-5
- Last year, Sacred Heart fell to the Hawks 70-64
- The all-time series between Hartford and Sacred Heart dates back to 1976
- All five of the Pioneers' wins came in the Division II era when SHU was 5-1 against the Hawks
- Since joining the Division I ranks in 1999-00, SHU is 0-5 against Hartford
SHU Against the America East... The Pioneers are 41-49 against the America East
- On November 23 of this year, the Pioneers picked up a last minute win over the Maine Black Bears thanks to five points from Hannah Kimmel in the final minute of the game
- The Pioneers picked up their second America East win of the season last Wednesday, topping Vermont 76-66 for their first program win agains the Catamounts
- SHU was 1-1 against the America East last year falling to Hartford 70-64 before squeezing out a 76-75 win over Maine the following week
- Sacred Heart has winning records against Albany (9-6), Binghampton (4-2), Maine (2-0) and Stony Brook (11-5)
- SHU has losing records against UMASS-Lowell (8-28) and Hartford (5-6), and is even with New Hamshire (1-1) and Vermont (1-1)
- The only America East team Sacred Heart has never faced is UMBC
Up Next... The Pioneers return home on Dec. 17 to host Siena at 7:00 p.m. before wrapping up the non-conference slate at Villanova on Dec. 20. On Dec. 17 when the Pioneers welcome Siena, Sacred Heart will collecting new, unwrapped children's toys to be donated to Toys for Tots. Any fan who brings a new, unwrapped toy will receive a free ticket to a future game.
