Setting the Scene... The Sacred Heart women's basketball team looks to bounce back from its first loss of the season Wednesday when the Pioneers host the University of Vermont Catamounts.
Series Notes... This is the second time in program history the Pioneers have faced off against the Catamounts
- Vermont leads the series winning the only matchup 81-63 on February 11, 1985
- This will be the first Division I meeting for the Pioneers and Catamounts, and the
first time SHU plays Vermont at home
SHU Against the America East... The Pioneers are 40-49 against the America East
- On November 23 of this year, the Pioneers picked up a last minute win over the
Maine Black Bears thanks to five points from Hannah Kimmel in the final minute
of the game
- The Pioneer were 0-1 in 2012-13 against the America East falling to Stony Brook
on the road 51-46
- Sacred Heart has winning records against Albany (9-6), Binghampton (4-2),
Maine (2-0) and Stony Brook (11-5)
- SHU has losing records against UMASS-Lowell (8-28), Hartford (5-6) and
Vermont (0-1), and is even with New Hamshire (1-1)
- The only America East team Sacred Heart has never faced is UMBC
