Setting the Scene... Coming off their 76-66 win over the University of Vermont Wednesday night, the Sacred Heart Pioneers head to Providence this weekend for the Brown Classic. Saturday at 2:00 p.m. SHU faces off with the Brown University Bears for the first time in over eight years.
Series Notes... This is the seventh time in program history the Pioneers have faced off against the Brown University Bears and the first time in nearly a decade
- The series is even with each team having three wins
- The Bears won their last meeting 70-63 on November 21, 2006
- All six meetings have come during SHU's Division I era
- Both teams are 2-1 when playing on their respective home courts
SHU Against the Ivy League... Sacred Heart is 27-18 all-time against Ivy League opponents
- Brown is the only member of the Ivy League SHU will face this year
- The Pioneers went 1-0 last year against the Ivy topping Yale 67-54 for Head Coach Jessica Mannetti's first career win as a head coach
- The only Ivy League teams Sacred Heart has a winning record against are Yale, Columbia and Princeton
- SHU has faced Brown (3-3), Columbia (5-4), Cornell (0-1), Dartmouth (0-2), Harvard (2-3), Princeton (4-2) and Yale (13-3). They have never played University of Pennsylvania
