Pioneers Go 2-2 at SFC Terrier Knockdown

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (January 18, 2015)—The Sacred Heart bowling team opened the spring semester by going 2-2 at the SFC Terrier Knockdown on Saturday. Sophomore Lauren Hoffman (Monroe Township, N.J.) led the Pioneers averaging 192.8 over four games.
Led by Jayna Tartaglia's (Rye Brook, N.Y.) best game of the game, SHU opened the one-day tournament with a 957-761 win over Saint Peter's. Despite a pair of 200+ games, including Sarah Rhodes' (Sparta, N.J.) match leading 233, the Pioneers fell to Northeast Conference foe LIU Brooklyn 1016-944 in the second match.
Sacred Heart stumbled in the third match. Kristin Zimmerman (Plantation, Fl.) posting the team's high game of 167 as the Pioneers fell to another NEC opponent St. Francis Brooklyn 970-778.
They did end the day on a good note with a win over New Jersey City. Coming of the bench, Mikaela Marbot (Buskirk, N.Y.) shot the team's highest game of the tournament, 247, in the 938-647 victory.
The Pioneers are back in action this weekend at the Kutztown Invitational in Reading, Pa.
