Last Time They Met...
The Sacred Heart women's basketball team snapped a four-game losing streak with the 77-53 defeat of St. Francis Brooklyn at home on Feb. 17 last season. For the second time that year, Sacred Heart saw two players eclipse the 20-point marker. Gabrielle Washington led all players with 27 points flirting with a double-double with nine rebounds, while then red-shirt sophomore Hannah Kimmel tallied a new career-high of 24 points shooting 60.0% from the field as the Pioneers improved to 11-14 overall, and 8-6 in Northeast Conference play.
SHU posted its highest shooting percentage of the year going 50.9% from the floor. Senior forward Enjoli Bland pulled down a season-high 12 rebounds.
SHU Against the NEC...
- SHU is 217-112 all-time against Northeast Conference opponents
- The Pioneers were an even 9-9 last season in conference play
- Entering the NEC Tournament as the six seed, the Sacred Heart headed to Loretto, Pa. to face Saint Francis U in the quarterfinal. After a double-overtime battle, the Red Flash moved on to the semifinal with a 132-124 win

Sacred Heart opened the non-conference finale with a 18-0 run en route to the program's first ever victory over Big East member Villanova. Hannah Kimmel and Gabrielle Washington combined for 57 points to lead the Pioneers to the 72-49 win, which has SHU sitting 5-5 at the non-conference slate.
NEC in the Last 10 Years...
The Sacred Heart Pioneers are the winningest program in the Northeast Conference over the past 10 years boasting a .767 win percentage (138-42) against league opponents. Not far behind is the reigning champs, Robert Morris Colonials, with a 128-52 record.
The Pioneers in NEC Openers...
Sacred Heart is 13-2 in conference-openers since joining teh Northeast Conference for the 1999-00 season. SHU boasts a 6-1 record, with its only loss coming two years ago at the hands of the Terriers, when opening the conference slate at home.
