Box Score

FAIRFIELD, CONN. (April 9, 2015)—Rookie Lauren Delgadillo went 2-for-4 at the plate as the Sacred Heart softball team was shutout by Fairfield U 6-0 Thursday afternoon at Alumni Softball Field. The loss drops the Pioneers to 6-18 before they resume Northeast Conference play this weekend against LIU Brooklyn on Saturday and Wagner on Sunday.

Jamie Carlson got the loss giving up six runs on five hits over six innings of work. After SHU threatened with the bases loaded in the top of the first inning, the Stags put the first five runners on base resulting in a 3-0 lead. The sophomore pitcher struck out eight Fairfield batters, while holding the Stags to just one hit through the next three innings, but Tori Reed delivered the final blow in the fifth inning in the form of a three-run homerun.
