PROVIDENCE, R.I. (April 9, 2016)—The Sacred Heart women's rugby team went 2-2 at the Brown University 7's tournament on Saturday collecting two wins over the University of New England.
SHU 36 - New England 0
- • The Pioneers struck first with a try from Charlotte Tallman with the assist from Sunny Ravert
- • It was Tallman with the assist as SHU went up 10-0 with Colleen Semenick finding the try zone
- • Semenick picked up two more tries and an assist in the shutout, with Emily Mignogni and Morgan Bowen also scoring in the win
Army West Point 12 – SHU 5
- • The Black Knights got on the board first taking an early 5-0 lead, but a try from Semenick evened the game
- • Army held the Pioneers scoreless through the rest of the game, adding seven points to its total with a try and a good conversion for the win
SHU 15 – New England 5
- • Amanda McPhail opened the game with five points for SHU, but New England quickly evened the score and took the lead with a try and good conversion
- • Back-to-back tries from Ravert and Semenick, with a good conversion from Sarah Rodzevik gave Sacred Heart the game 15-5
Army West Point 28 – SHU 10
- • Army opened the game with back-to-back tries with good conversions for a 14-0 lead
- • Semenick attempted to slow the Black Knights' offense putting SHU on the board with five points
- • The teams exchanged scores through the final buzzer with the Pioneers unable to catch Army
