PROVIDENCE, R.I. (September 16, 2016)—The Sacred Heart field hockey team had its comeback cut short Friday afternoon at Brown. With SHU down 5-0, Rebecca Hauser (Mohrsville, Pa.) netted the Pioneers first goal of the game in the 57^th minute. A few minutes later, Colleen McAninley (Sewell, N.J.) got a pass from Nichole Tolli (Poughquag, N.Y.) making it just a three-goal game. Unfortunately, the final buzzer halted the SHU offense, and the Pioneers drop to 0-7 on the season.

Sacred Heart returns home Sunday to host another Ivy League opponent in Dartmouth at 10:30 a.m.

First Half:

• Brown got on the board early as Ellie Seid scored her first of two goals in the game in just the fourth minute. The Bears continued the offensive onslaught getting in four straight shots in the following three minutes, but SHU goalkeeper Emily Degennaro (Wading River, N.Y.) kept it a 1-0 game
• The Bears scored once more in the first half as Jessica Torres found the back of the goal in the 24^th minute

Second Half:

• Brown scored back-to-back goals within 90 seconds of each other to further expand its lead to 4-0 by the 43^rd minute
• SHU got its first good offensive opportunity in the 47^th minute with back-to-back corners, but the Pioneers were unable to convert either to a goal
• Seid netted her second goal in the 55^th minute capping the Bears' scoring
• Sacred Heart's offense came to life in the 57^th minute as the Pioneers were granted a corner. Allie Brouhard (Washington, N.J.) found Tolli at the top of the circle. The junior put her shot on goal, but it was saved by Katie Hammaker. Hauser snagged the rebound and put it back in for the Pioneers' first goal
• The Pioneers maintained control in their offensive end in the following minutes and it paid off. In the 64^th minute, Tolli fed McAninley as the rookie charged towards the goal. McAninley faked out the goalie and put the ball in the right side of the net for her first collegiate goal
