Box Score 2 DURHAM, NH- The Sacred Heart women's Volleyball team ended the New Hampshire Invitational with a 3-0 record to improve their overall record to a 6-6 on the year. The Pioneers started the day defeating tournament host New Hampshire University 3-1, and went on to beat Holy Cross 3-1.
The first match of the day the Pioneers got of to a fast start winning the first two sets by a score of 26-24, and 26-24. Althought the SHU volleyball team ran into a minor speed bump, losing the third set 13-25, they regrouped and came back to win the fourth set 28-26.
Sarah Krufka continues her dominance for the Pioneers totaling 18 kills in the match verse New Hampshire. Krufka ended the match with a kill percentage of .298% and also added 1 solo block and 3 block assists. Also having a big game for the Pioneers as
Gianna Scioletti who had an impressive 7 block assists. Senior
Allison Riggs also added 6 block assists against the wildcats.
The Pioneers kept the momentum rolling, as they beat Holy Cross in the final match of the tournament. Leading the Pioneers was Makayla Dole posting 15 kills out of her 34 attempts. Dole added 19.5 point, 3 service aces, 17 digs, and also 1 block solo and 1 block assist. Julia Murawinski also added 4 block assists on the night.
The Pioneers look to tally another win on the road when they take on NEC foe St. Francis Brooklyn at 1:00PM Saturday September 24th.
