The Sacred Heart University women's swimming and diving team ended the dual meet portion of its season with a 130-74 win over Saint Francis Brooklyn at the McCann Natatorium. The Pioneers posted a program-best 9-2 dual meet record during the 2016-17 season.
The Pioneers earned wins in nine of the 12 events, with senior Olivia Decas earning three wins in her final dual meet as a Pioneer. Classmate Caleigh Dion earned two wins in her final dual meet, including a dual meet personal best swim in the 100 freestyle.
The nine wins is the most in a single-season for the Pioneers and earned SHU its first-ever winning record in dual action.
The Pioneers now turn their attention to the Northeast Conference Championship, February 15-18 at MIT in Cambridge, Mass.
RELAY
- Anna Brown, Jessica Poole, Cielo and Decas combined to win the opening 200 medley relay, touching at 1:54.56, .41 in front of the Terrier relay
- Seniors Julia Pedersen, Dion, Decas and Jillian Crosby teamed up to win the 200 free style relay, their final home swim as Pioneers.
SPRINT FREESTYLE
- Dion touched first in the 100 freestyle, touching at 54.46, while Victoria Catizone touched third with a personal dual meet best time of 57.68
- Lauren Somers won the 50 free for the Pioneers, touching at 25.02
- Kim Hylan captured the 200 freestyle crown, finishing at 2:02.15

STROKES
- Decas came from behind to win the 100 individual medley in a time of 1:03.68
- Emily Shenk (1:02.99) out touched Hylan (1:03.07) as the Pioneers took the top three spots in the 100 backstroke, with Bryana Cielo touching third at 1:04.47
- SHU also swept the top two spots in the 100 butterfly, with Nikole Rudis (1:04.48) and Dell'Isola (1:04.90)
