LORETTO, Pa. - The Sacred Heart University women's volleyball team won its second match in a row, as the Pioneers swept Saint Francis University Friday evening. Liisel Nelis had a team-high 15 kills and added nine digs to lead the Pioneers, who hit .246 for the match as a team. Sarah Ciszek and Alix Polk both had double-doubles, with Ciszek recording 35 assists and 17 digs and Polk adding 12 kills and 12 digs to lead the Pioneers (15-9, 8-5 NEC).

The Pioneers return to action Saturday, Nov. 10, at 5:00 p.m., when they take on Robert Morris on the road to close the regular-season.

Set 1

• Saint Francis opened the match with a 7-1 run, forcing a SHU timeout

• Out of the timeout, SHU went on a 9-5 run to cut the deficit to 12-10

• The Red Flash responded by pushing its lead to 17-11

• SHU responded with a 9-2 run to take a 20-19 lead

• With SHU trailing 25-24, Julia Murawinski delivered with a kill to tie the set

• With the match tied at 30-30, Alix Polk delivered back-to-back kills to secure the set win for the Pioneers

SET 2

• The teams went back-and-forth, with SHU holding a narrow 7-6 lead early in the set

• The Pioneers then went on an 8-1 run to push the score to 16-7, with Liisel Nelis, Murawinski and Polk all recording kills in that span

• The Red Flash cut the SHU lead to 22-17, but the Pioneers took three of the next four points, sparked by a Nelis kill to take the set 25-18

SET 3

• SHU opened the set with a 15-5 run, sparked by a Polk kill and capped by a Lauren Middlemass service ace

• With SHU leading 20-10, the Pioneers took two of the next three points off a kill apiece from Sarah Ciszek and Julia Murawinski

• With SHU holding match-point, the Red Flash committed an attack error for the Pioneers to secure the sweep
