SHU Field Hockey falls to Georgetown on the Road, 2-0

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Sacred Heart University field hockey team suffered its first loss of the season, as the Pioneers fell to Georgetown, 2-0, on the road Friday afternoon. Kelsy Hopkins and Kayla Bedel-Franklin led the way with two shots on-goal apiece in the loss.

The Pioneers return to action on Sunday, September 2, when the Pioneers travel to take on Towson at 1 p.m. in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Scoring

  • (2:04): Sydney Stephenson scored off a penalty corner after Jax Van Der Deen fed her the ball.

  • (56:13): Cami Osbourne scored after receiving a pass from Lindsay Getz and firing on net.

Noteworthy

  • Hailey Power made eight saves in net for the Pioneers

  • Georgetown outshot Sacred Heart 19-16

  • Sacred Heart registered nine shots on goal, while Georgetown recorded 10
