The Sacred Heart University men's basketball team won for the fourth consecutive time, defeating intrastate foe, University of Hartford, 79-62, Sunday afternoon. The Pioneers improve to 6-4 on the year, while the Hawks fall to 4-7.

The Pioneers trailed 57-56 with 8:53 to play in the game, after Michael Dunne drained a three-point field goal. The Pioneers scored the next 21 pints, taking a 77-57 lead on a Kinnon LaRose basket with 97 ticks remaining and leading 77-57.

E.J. Anosike recorded his fourth double-double in seven games, scoring a team-best 22 points and collected a career-high 18 rebounds. Cameron Parker had a second consecutive double-double, with 16 points and 12 rebounds

The Pioneers are off for the next week for final exams, and return to action next Sunday at Central Florida. That game is scheduled for 2:00 pm and will air on ESPN3.

Turning Point:

• The Pioneers opened the second-half with a 13-2 run over 2:29, to turn a halftime deficit into a 44-43 advantage
• The Hawks would retake the lead and build it to five, 51-45 at the 13:40 mark 
• The Pioneers went on a 20-6 run over the next 7:30 to build a 65-57 advantage and pushed that to 77-57 to complete the 21-0 run

• The Pioneers scored eight unanswered, in 65 seconds, to take their first lead, 14-12, when Clarke scored in the point at the 12:16 mark

• The Pioneers were able to cut that deficit to two points, 30-28, when Parker drained a three, with 3:27 to pay before the half

• The Pioneers opened the second-half without missing a shot over the first 2:29 and used that run to take a 44-43 advantage
• Traci Carter ended the Pioneers run in the paint at 17:05 and started a 6-0 run that put the Hawks back up five, 49-44 with 14:32 to play
• The Pioneers chipped away and took the lead at 55-54 on a Parker three and a Clarke free throw with 9:23 to play made the Pioneer lead 56-54
• Dunne drained a three for the Hawks with 8:53 to play and gave Hartford its final lead of the game, 57-56
• SHU held Hartford to 0-7 and forced three turnovers, over the ensuing 7:22 of action
• Ozier's basket in the paint and free throw at the 7:44 mark put SHU in front 59-57
