LONG ISLAND, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University baseball team fell to Stony Brook on the road, 4-1, Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Pioneers drop to 6-14 on the season, while Stony Brook improves to 10-7 on the season.

Ryan LaMay got the start and got the no decision after giving up one run on five hits and striking out five in 7.1 innings of work. Austin Markmann went 1-for-4 and drove in the lone run for the Pioneers.

NOTES (Stony Brook 4, SHU 1):

• Austin Markmann went 1-for-4 and drove in the lone run for the Pioneers

• Jake Frasca went 2-for-3 with a walk

• Stephen Thibault and Julian Pedrouzo picked up a hit apiece

• The Pioneers struck first after Markmann drove in Thibault with an RBI to give SHU a 1-0 lead in the first inning

• SHU kept the Seawolves scoreless through seven innings until the Seawolves tallied four runs in the eighth to secure the 4-1 win over the Pioneers
