Women's Basketball Prepared For NEC Quarterfinal At SFU

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – For the 21st time as a member of the Northeast Conference, the Sacred Heart women's basketball team will appear in the NEC Tournament. The Pioneers are the fifth-seed, after tying for fourth-place, and will travel to fourth-seeded Saint Francis U on Monday night. The game will air be available to watch on NEC Front Row, from DeGol Arena in Loretto, Pa, at 7:00 pm.

The Pioneers have won four straight games entering the postseason, including a 66-54 overtime win over LIU on Thursday. It was the first overtime game of the season for the Pioneers. Jayla Davis recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Adrianne Hagood tallied a game-high 17 points. The Red Flash lost to Robert Morris 62-29 and enter the tournament having lost five straight games.

The Red Flash won both meetings between the two teams this season and have now won three-straight in the series. Both games were decided by single-digits this season, with a nine point win at the Pitt Center and a 60-58 SFU win in Loretto on January 28.
