SHUFFLED SCHEDULE BRINGS MOUNTAINEERS TO TOWN
Schedules is 2020-21 are certainly written in pencil rather than pen. A hole in the schedule caused by COVID 19 cases in other programs opened a window for the January 28-29 series between Sacred Heart University and Mount St. Mary's to be moved up. The Pioneers topped Wagner, 58-52, in their last contest while the Mountaineers got one of the rare sweeps in the NEC as they took both games versus St. Francis Brooklyn.
OPENING TIP
- Coming off a split against Wagner, Sacred Heart is home for an NEC series with Mount St. Mary's.
- Sacred Heart leads the all-time series with the Mountaineers, 35-8, but MSM won the last contest 67-58 at SHU.
- The Pioneers have had a very balanced scoring attack with five different players leading the team in points each game.
- Senior Adrianne Hagood had her best game of the year with 22 points in the first contest against Wagner.
- Rookie Kelsey Wood - Named NEC Rookie of the Week on January 11 - continues to have a strong start to her initial campaign, averaging 7.2 ppg. and 6.8 rpg.
