FAIRFIELD, Conn. – With a limited number of matches this year, the Sacred Heart University and Bucknell University wrestling programs made the most of their Sunday showdown. No team scores were recorded as the two programs competed in a round robin format.

The day started off with a bang for the Pioneers as Robert Hetherman pinned Mason McCready in just 2:47 of their 197-pound bout. Sophomore Raf Lievano held on to beat Joey Gould, 2-1, at 149 pounds.

An early takedown at 184 pounds propelled Joe Accousti to a 4-1 victory against Sam Barnes. Rookie Jordan Carlucci got a third-period takedown and two near fall points for 10-8 win at 141 pounds against Chris Lanciano.

Sacred Heart is back on the mat January 29 to take on Hofstra at 7 p.m.
