LORETTO, Pa. — The Sacred Heart University field hockey team couldn't capitalize on the road against Northeast Conference opponent Saint Francis on Friday. The Pioneers fell, 1-0, against the Red Flash.
Both teams came out of the matchup 2-2 in the conference with SHU 2-10 overall and SFU 4-9.
Kayla Kruk led the charge with four of SHU's six shots, while SFU took almost double with 11.Â
The visitors attempted nine corners, while Saint Francis took six. The Red Flash had one successful corner to take the 1-0 lead halfway through the second quarter.
Goalkeepers
Erin Burgess and
Samantha Maresca split time between the posts with a combined six saves and only allowed the lone goal.
The Red & White stay in Pennsylvania to face Lock Haven on Sunday at 1 p.m..
