Alexa Ocel adding another goal on the season, the Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey team lost in its first NEWHA matchup on Friday. The Pioneers fell, 3-1, to the Long Island.

The Sharks knotted the score at 1-1 three minutes later. Off a power play five minutes into the third, LIU tallied its second goal to take a 2-1 lead. With 30 seconds remaining, the Sharks added their last goal of the night.
Frankie Sanchez made 29 saves for her highest save percentage this season with .906.
The Red & White come home for a rematch against the Sharks on Saturday, with a 5:30 p.m. puck drop.
