SHELTON, Conn. — Sophomore
Paige McNeil's second-period goal wasn't enough for the Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey team as they fell, 2-1, to Long Island in overtime.
For her second goal of the season, McNeil found the back of the net on a power play at 13:52 in the second period. The Shakopee, Minn. native was assisted by
Alexa Ocel, for her fourth assist of the season, and
Nicole Guidi for her second.

The Sharks evened the score at one-all just three minutes after the Pioneers goal to force extra time.Â

The visitors banked the game-winning goal off the pipes with just over a minute left to play.Â

Kelly Solak had a season-high eight blocks, along with
Kennedy Spiering with four.Â

Frankie Sanchez tallied 17 saves during her long 63:53 stint in the cage.Â
