FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Looking to stay near the top of the Northeast Conference standings, the Sacred Heart University women's volleyball team posted its second sweep in as many nights. The Pioneers disposed of LIU, 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-16), on Saturday.

Of Note:
Sacred Heart had the advantage on the offensive side of the net as the Pioneers limited the Sharks to a .080 rate while hitting .276 themselves. LIU committed twice as many hitting errors (20) as the Pioneers.
 
Also contributing to LIU's hitting woes was the Sacred Heart defense. Topped by 
Emma Smallcomb's team-high 14 digs, SHU had a 55-49 advantage. Setter 
Sarah Ciszek and outside hitter 
Jasmine Rogers had 10 apiece.
 
The Pioneers trailed 14-12 in the opening stanza, but rattled off six-straight points that included a block and kill from 
Mackenzie Eford. 
Olivia Fairchild keyed an 8-0 run in set two with two kills and a block. LIU came back from a 7-2 deficit in the third set, but the visitors committed three errors that pushed the SHU lead from 12-10 to 17-10.
 
For the second night in a row, Fairchild posted double-digit kills with 10 winners. Topping the Pioneers was 
Dominique Felix with 12 kills. Ciszek notched a 26-assist, 10-dig double-double.
