The Sacred Heart University men's basketball team continues on the road as they head to Lafayette. The Pioneers and the Leopards will face off this Thursday, December 2 at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
 

OPENING TIP

• Sacred Heart looks to snap a three-game losing streak, its longest since dropping three-straight to open the 2019-20 season. 
• The Pioneers and the Leopards last met in 2019 when the game came down to a pair of Lafayette free throws with one second on the clock. The Leopards drained both and took the game, 67-66.
• Lafayette holds the all-time series record, 6-4. The last SHU vicotry was in 2018, 64-62. 
• The last three meetings between the two teams have all been decided by single digits and neither team netted more than 70 points.  
• Junior Tyler Thomas remains in the top five in total FG attempts at 129. Thomas averages 18.4 FG attempts per game. The high number of attempts has led to a high scoring average as he continue to lead to NEC and ranks 29th in the country with 20.1 ppg.  

TYLER T, MVP?
Tyler Thomas has posted double-digit scoring performances in all but one game so far this season after being held to just nine at Stony Brook. The junior guard continues to lead the NEC in points per game at 20.1. It's no question that he's SHU's go-to as he ranks 5th in the country in FG attempts with 129. Make no mistake, the high number of attempts has led to a high number of makes as he ranks 14th with 56 made FGs.
 

CRASHING THE BOARDS
Sacred Heart has posted top rebounding marks as they rank 38th in the country with 29.33 defensive rebounds per game and 34th at 41.67 total rebounds per game. Rebounding has showed a direct impact on the team's outcome as they are 2-2 when outrebounding their opponent, and 0-3 on the latter. The Pioneers show a +6.1 rebound margin which is second in the NEC. SHU's top rebounder, Nico Galette, ranks 28th in the country in rebounds per game (9.6).
