EASTON, Pa. – Four players scored in double-digits as the Sacred Heart University men's basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 74-67 victory at Lafayette on Thursday night.

Alex Watson netted 15 of SHU's 40 first-half points which aided in the Pioneers grabbing a double-digit lead early on. Despite the cushion, Lafayette erupted for a 15-0 run to even the score with three minutes until the halftime break.
Sacred Heart bounced back from last game when they started off shooting under 30% from the field in the first frame. Tonight, the Pioneers posted 53.3% (16-30) from the field and 41.2% (7-17) from three.
Lafayette took a three-point lead with 15 minutes still to play in the game, which prompted a 9-0 Sacred Heart run. The Leopards went on to even the score at 8:31, but the Pioneers refused to take a backseat with help from
Tyler Thomas who came up big down the stretch. The junior guard netted eight of SHU's final 13 points.
Senior
Aaron Clarke led the Pioneers with 13 second-half points as he finished the game with a team-high 19. Since AC's return, he has led the Red & White in scoring in three of the last four games.
Watson climbed to a career-high 17 points after not netting a single point in the game prior. The native of Marietta, Ga. shot 87.5% from the field (7-8) and 75% from behind the arc (3-4).
The seven-point victory marks the third-straight game that was decided by less than ten points. Sacred Heart's only three wins on the season occurred when the Pioneers net 74 points or above.
The last time four Pioneers posted double-digit scoring was when SHU opened the season at La Salle on November 9.
In two of SHU's three wins this season, the Pioneers were leading at the half. The only come-from-behind victory was at La Salle.
