The Sacred Heart University swimming and diving program placed fifth overall at the invite
NEW BRITAIN, Conn.- The Sacred Heart University swimming and diving all-time program history record books added some new faces after the final day of Blue Devil Invite on Sunday. The Pioneers as a team finished in fifth with 427 points.

- First-year Rosemery Nieto placed fourth in the 50 yard breaststroke prelims with a time of 32.07.
- Fellow classmate Emma Chambers placed seventh in the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 27.21.
- Meghan Hammarlund placed 13th in the 200 yard backstroke touching the wall with a time of 2:15.23.
- Ella Krikorian led the Pioneers in the 200 yard breaststroke prelims with a time of 2:37.64.
- Emma Chambers was the top Pioneer in the 200 yard butterfly tapping the wall with a time of 2:09.50 for a second place finish.
Finals
- The Pioneers placed first in the 1-meter dive final as sophomore Olivia McNicholas scored a 229.55 on the board.
- Natalie Carbone placed third in the 1-meter dive final with a season best score of 206.50.
- First-year Caroline Duhamel placed fourth in the 1650 yard freestyle with a time of 17:57.89 to place herself fifth in program history in the event. Her time of 10:53.27 in the 1000 freestyle placed her fifth in program history as well.
- Rosemery Nieto placed second in the 50 yard breaststroke with a time of 30.74. Nieto continued her success in the pool by placing third all-time in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time 2:26.35.
- Melanie Sanchez led the Pioneers in the 50 yard butterfly with a season best time of 26.68 for a seventh place finish. Her finish in the 200 yard butterfly placed her fifth all-time in the event with a time of 2:08.27.
- Meghan Hammarlund placed 13th in the 200 yard backstroke final with a season best time of 2:09.25.
- Emma Chambers placed third in the 200 yard butterfly final touching the wall with a time of 2:10.69.
