Box Score HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — The Sacred Heart University baseball program couldn't hold on to a 5-0 second inning lead after Hofstra's five-run sixth inning. The Pride prevailed 8-5 on Friday.

- SHU got the scoring started with five runs in the second.
- Joe Emerson and Robert Farruggio led off the second with back-to-back singles. Mark Smith's fielder's choice scores Emerson.
- Julian Pedrouzo double to the right field, sent Smith and Farruggio home, while Austin Markmann had a two-bagger of his own to right center, driving in Justin Levito.
- Hofstra grabbed the lead with five runs in the sixth, including four off reliever Tyler Briggs who was saddled with the loss. Only two were earned as the Pios committed a pair of errors in the frame.
