Box Score BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — The Sacred Heart University baseball team opened its three-game Northeast Conference series at home against Merrimack with a close, 4-3, loss on Thursday.

Of Note:
- The bulk of the scoring for both teams was in the first inning with the Warriors sending home three and SHU with two.
- Second baseman Danny Glendon's single to left field allowed Isiah Daubon and Austin Markmann to cross the plate in the opening inning.
- The scoring was mute until Bryant Skurbe's sacrifice fly to center field drove in the eventual winning run for Merrimack.
- In the bottom of the ninth, Elijah Brown doubled down the right field line which brought Justin Jordan home, but Sacred Heart couldn't muster another run with two stranded on base.
