Box Score BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — The Sacred Heart University baseball team was bested 2-1 by Merrimack in a close defeat at home on Friday. The Pioneers have dropped the first two games of the against the Warriors.

Of Note:
- Even though he surrendered the one run, Merrimack's Riley Sorenson pitched a no-hitter.
- After the Warriors scored one in the top half of the fourth, SHU tied the game without a hit.
- Eljjah Brown led off with a walk, stole second, moved up to third on a ground then scored on Isiah Daubon's sacrifice fly to right field.
- The scoring remained stagnant until the eighth inning when Merrimack tallied the eventual winning run off a SHU throwing error.
- Left-hander Chase Jeter was saddled with the loss even though threw a tough 7.1 innings. He gave up two runs, one earned, with five strikeouts.
