Will Pearce scored his first career goal but it wasn't enough as the Sacred Heart University men's soccer team fell at Siena, 2-1, in its first game of the season on Thursday.

Siena took the early lead in the 8
th minute when Jacob Pacheco took advantage of a corner from Jacob Arachige-Jensen.
Frederic Storodegard notched an off-balance shot into the net to give the Saints a 2-0 lead in the 31
st minute.
Sacred Heart earned a corner just six minutes after the Saints' second goal. Pearce capitalized to cut Siena's lead in half and get the Pioneers on the board before the end of the first half.
Both teams were held scoreless in the second half. Each team got off five shots, but the Pioneers could not get one on frame.
The Pioneers tallied nine shots with two of them on goal. Segundo Nevarro led SHU with four shots while
Drew David, Lucas Miguel-Castrillo, Costa and Pearce recorded one apiece.
