FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team was back in action Monday as it played in its home opener. Unfortunately, the Pioneers came up short against UMass, 2-0.

The game was scoreless until the 58th minute mark when UMass's Joe Leslie connected on a penalty kick.
Leslie would score again for the Minutemen at the 87th minute.
Sacred Heart had multiple opportunities to get to a goal, taking 12 shots throughout the contest.

Kevin Siwik made his first career-start for the Pioneers, tallying four saves.
