NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Despite
Isabelle Chamberlain's career-high five shots, the Sacred Heart University field hockey team couldn't capitalize against Hofstra on Friday. The Pioneers fell, 2-0, at home against the Pride.
Hofstra took the lead in the second quarter when Djuna Short slapped one into the back of the net. With seven minutes remaining in the game, the Pride built a 2-0 cushion to seal the win.
The Red & White outshot the visitors, 13-10, and earned nine corners, compared to Hofstra's eight.
SHU has a quick turn around when they face Bucknell at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
