FAIRFIELD, CONN. – Sacred Heart University Director of Athletics Judy Ann Riccio announced the addition of Jack Pinho to the athletics staff. He joins the Pioneers as the coordinator of student-athlete support services.

In his new role, Pinho will provide academic support to student-athletes, including time management skills, organizational skills, academic advising, class registration, and progress towards degree. He will advise 10 teams, including football, women's basketball, baseball and women's lacrosse.

"I am extremely grateful to be a part of the Sacred Heart athletics family," Pinho said. "I want to personally thank Judy Ann Riccio, Tammy Petrucelli and Kelsey Armstrong for having the faith in me to be able to serve the student-athletes. I believe my passion, energy, and drive will help steer the student-athlete's success even more inside and outside of the classroom. Sacred Heart University is truly a special place and I already feel like I am at home."

Pinho joins Sacred Heart from Rivier University in Nashua, N.H. where he had a dual role as coordinator of career services and internships for the university while also serving as the head men's and women's cross country coach.

Within the career services office, he provided coaching and advising to students across the university regarding career exploration and development of professional skills in preparation for internship experiences. As cross country coach, Pinho oversaw all aspects of the program, including the development of training programs, recruiting and travel.

Pinho earned a pair of degrees from Springfield College, receiving a 2018 bachelor's degree in physical education followed two years later by an athletic administration master's. He was a well-decorated runner during his time with the Pride, earning All-America honors during both the 2018 indoor and outdoor seasons. Pinho currently holds five-different school records.
