STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— The Sacred Heart University women's and men's track & field teams competed at the New York City Gotham Cup at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Center on Friday.
On the women's side, Kaylee Stenderowicz placed second in the triple jump with an 11.50m leap. Abbie Mokwuah also finished second on a personal-best 13.03m throw in the shot put.
Jenna Engels earned fourth on the pole vault with a personal-best 3.35m. The women rounded out the top five with fifth-place finishes from Kelly Parker in the 5000m (18:53.72) and Megan Schneider in the 1000m (3:09.30).
On the men's side,
Cameron Croce threw a season-best 16.86 meters in the weight throw and earned fourth.
Daniel DiGangi placed fifth in the pole vault when he cleared 4.10m.
Next weekend, the Pioneers compete at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational hosted by Boston University. Women compete on January 28 at 1 p.m., while the men start competition on January 29 at 10:30 a.m.
