Fairfield, Conn – The Pioneers men's and women's track and field teams collected three Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) weekly honors after competing in the Suffolk University Relays. Rafael Mahario was named Men's Track Performer of the Week, Jordan Wilson earned Men's Rookie of the Week accolades, and Suzan Adekunle was selected as Women's Field Performer of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. 
 
Mahario captured an event win in the 200-meter dash, finishing with a time of 22.00 seconds. He also helped the Pioneers claim first place in the 4x400 relay, as the quartet crossed the finish line in 3:20.44.
 
Wilson, a first-year, turned in his most impressive performance as a Pioneer thus far. He captured his first collegiate event win in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.93 seconds. Wilson wasn't done there, as he finished second in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line just behind his teammate, Mahario.
 
Adekunle shined in the weight throw, earning a first-place finish with a mark of 17.75 meters. Her throw was nearly two meters farther than the second-place finisher and set a new personal best in her collegiate career.

The Pioneers will be back in action next weekend on Saturday, January 24, as they take the short trip to New Haven, Connecticut, to compete in the Southern Connecticut State University William Sutherland III Invite.
