Staten Island, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University men's track and field team delivered a strong performance on Friday, December 12, recording four top-five finishes at the Wagner College Seahawk Shootout.

The Pioneer's performance was headlined by Lance Hayes, a graduate student who took home first place in the 600-meter run. Hayes' overall time was 1:20.82, which was good enough for a program record.

Another program record was broken in the 4x200-meter relay, as DeRonn Adams, Colin Brown, Damon Wilson, and Gavin Alvarez posted a time of 1:28.58 to earn a second-place finish.

First-year Michael Maresca also impressed on the track, finishing fourth in the mile run with a time of 4:20.94.

The field events were headlined by sophomore Benjamin Mandler, who placed second overall in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.20 meters.
