Men's Track and Field Finish Fifth Overall at the New England Intercollegiate Indoor Track & Field Championships

Hayes led the way
Boston, Mass. – The Sacred Heart University men's track and field team finished fifth overall out of 23 teams at the New England Intercollegiate Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend. They scored a total of 58 points across 20 events.
Lance Hayes led the day for the Pioneers. In the 500m dash, Hayes finished third overall at 1:04.07, earning six valuable points.
The next best event of the day for the Pioneers was the 4x400 relay. Rafael Mahario, Colin Brown, and Hayes finished second overall with a time of 3:17.42, good enough for eight valuable points.
The Pioneers also found success in the 4x800 relay. Dylan Peterson, Jacob Strain, Brady Sweeney, and Joshua Voorhees finished third overall with a time of 7:50.12. This gave the Pios six more points towards their total.
